Hoysala symbol - Nuggehalli

Nuggehalli, a village near Channarayapattana is the house for majestic architecture of Hoysala temples. I came across this place when I was browsing for places to visit around Hassana/Channarayapattana. By seeing the images of the temple, I decided to visit this place.

Mode of transport:

  • By BUS: If you are travelling from Bengaluru, get down at Channarayapattana and board another local bus to reach Nuggehalli which is about 15km from Channarayapattana. Even from other places like Mysore, Hassana, one can get down at Channarayapattana to reach here
  • By Train: Train has stop at Channarayapattana and you can take Bus from Channarayapattana to reach Nuggehalli
  • By Car: On the Bangalore Mangalore highway, after Hirisave, take a diversion to right, use google to get exact location.

Temple timings:
There is no strict timing as such. One can visit the place and ask near by people in the village to show the priest house. They will come and open it for you.

To eat:
If you are lucky, you may get puliyogare prasada at Lakshmi Narasimha temple. Otherwise in Nuggehalli, you will not get anything. But once you are in BM road (NH75), you will find lot of options to eat.
